About the 1FR2042
Reliance Electric manufactures 1FR2042, a regenerative 1.5 horsepower FlexPak 3000 drive. The full load RMS AC line current is 10, the full load rated DC armature current is 7, the rated field current is 10. This drive has a 240 VDC armature and a 150 VDC field. In order to wire the drive, the enclosure, motor, and operator’s control station must be grounded. Table 3.3 in the user manual details the recommended lugs for wiring the drive. Next, wire A-C power to the drive, and then wire the D-C motor to the drive. Wire the “COAST/STOP” digital input. If user devices are desired, these must also be wired to the drive. User devices include: run, stop, jog, reverse/forward, auto/manual, interlock, fault reset, brush wear, motor thermostat, speed reference potentiometer, auto reference, tachometer (analog), AOUT1 metering, AOUT2 metering, the Running indicator, the Alarm indicator, and the Fault indicator.
Setting up and adjusting the drive requires a volt-ohmmeter with a sensitivity of 20,000 ohms per volt, such as a Triplett Model 630 or a Simpson 260. An inspection must be performed on the drive while the power is off. Verify that the wiring of the operator’s station and the wiring to the drive is made with sufficient bare wire to make a good electrical connection. Conductors may be needlessly exposed by the removal of an excessive length of insulation. Exposed conductors have the possibility of resulting in shorts or safety hazards. Do not attempt to set up the drive without professional knowledge of the equipment.
