About the 20FN4042

20FN4042 is a DC motor drive from the FlexPak 3000 series, distributed by Reliance Electric. This drive is designed to have a wireless construction, and it has a non-regenerative output of 20 HP. By design, it is a full-wave power converter without a back rectifier. The system contains both a major and minor digital current loop with the purpose of regulating voltage and speed to the armature. The primary feedback system is a DC tachometer which is fed into the terminal control block. The associated user interface utilizes various keys and an LCD screen to display status and programming information information. This User interface is capable of operating in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and an externally specified ‘Code’ language. The drive can either be controlled locally using this user interface or by inputs and outputs using the Control Terminal Block.

All logic-based inputs operate at 24 VDC. Logic based outputs have a 250 volt maximum of 250 VAC and 30 VDC and indicator statuses such as Running, Alarm, and No Fault. The analog inputs and outputs on the controller operate at +/- 10 VDC except for the tachometer input which cannot exceed 250 VDC or 275 rms VAC. The manual mode reference includes a potentiometer that is a 5KΩ minimum. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure appropriate installation of the drive in accordance with all electrical rules and regulations. It is also necessary to use the appropriate power source and external equipment, as specified in the drive requirements. Failure to do so may result in serious bodily injury.
