About the 3FN2032

The 3FN2032 is a FlexPak 3000 3HP Non-Regenerative 3-Phase Digital DC Drive initially manufactured by Reliance Electric. The 3FN2032 is a 50/60Hz 230 VAC drive. It has a full load RMS AC line current that is rated 13 amps and an RMS DC armature current that is 12 amps. This drive has a maximum load of 150% for 1 minute. It has a 48/62Hz AC line frequency. This drive comes in a standard chassis-type enclosure, but there is a kit that the user can purchase to convert the chassis into a NEMA 1-rated enclosure.

It has analog 12-bit resolution signals and more flexible digital signals. It features a fused blower motor starter, an OMI with an interface screen (keypad), ac line fuses, a compact chassis, an enhanced field supply, a surface-mount regulator board, and a terminal strip for user I/O. This drive is 500mm tall, 310mm deep, and 270mm wide. It is possible to set this drive up to be a stand-alone unit, to be in a master/follower configuration, or to be in a dancer position regulator configuration.

The OIM interface screen on the 3FN2032 has many different features. It has OIM programming keys, control keys with LED indicators, a parameter input main menu, a parameter entry field, LVD indicators, drive control keys, and an LCD. This interface screen can allow the user to make use of the QuickStart Menu, which will allow for a speedy set-up of the system. The interface also allows for monitoring the drive for faults and aids in drive operation.

No, the 3FN2032 can not be converted into a 460 VAC drive. The FlexPak 3000 460 VAC drives can be converted down to a 230 VAC drive using one of the FlexPak 3000 drive modification kits. The associated model that can be used with a 460 VAC drive is 3FN4032, which also operates on the same horsepower as this unit.
Is the 3FN2032 a regenerative or non regenerative drive?
The 3FN2032's part number contains an N, which means the drive is non-regenerative. If the part number contains an R, then the drive is a regenerative drive. The regenerative model associated with 3 HP is the 3FN4032. 
How many preset speeds does the 3FN2032 have?
The 3FN2032 has three different preset speeds but the I/O expansion cards allow for more preset speeds. The I/O expansion cards do not come with the drive but are available. 

Are there any benefits to the 3FN2032 model?

While the 3FN2032 does have manuals that can easily identify the controller type information on what the non-regenerative model does with the FlexPak 3000 drives. It can be assumed that this model will not help with reversing functions of the drive; for reversing functions, the sister model to this unit should be used.
