About the 60FN4042
The 60FN4042 is a FlexPak 3000 30/60 HP Digital DC Drive originally created by Reliance Electric. ABB and Baldor Reliance may have also mass-produced this series of drives depending on its production dates, but it is no longer being supported by Reliance at all. While it may now be hard to locate now, AX Control still makes every attempt to keep the 60FN4042 in stock.
The 60FN4042 is non-regenerative, 3-phase, and has a short circuit rating of 10 kiloamps. It has an output capacity of 240/500 VDC and 110 amps. It has an input capacity of 230/460 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and 94 amps. It has a DC field of 150/300 VDC and 15 amps.
On the top of the 60FN4042 are a trio of semiconductors, wiring, and terminal strips. On the bottom of the drive is a single air circulation fan that forces air to blow on the internal drive circuitry. There are also air vents on the drive that aid in keeping the internal components cool. The front panel of the drive can be removed to grant the user better access to the PCBs that are directly below the user interface. There is an RS-232 port and a set of three terminal strips that can be easily accessed this way.
On the user interface of the 60FN4042 is an LCD display and a keypad. There are four arrow keys that point up, down, left, and right. There are eleven other keys. These keys are labeled Run, Stop/Reset, Jog, Enter, Cancel, Help, Program/Monitor, Fault, Auto/Manual, Control Function Select, and Forward/Reverse.
