Reliance Electric’s 906FK0501 is an Inverting Fault Circuit Breaker Kit, which supplies an alternative to drives that already offer inverting fault fuses. It offers a standard interrupt rating of 25,000 amperes symmetrical at 480 VAC. The Inverting Fault Circuit Breaker Kit is a magnetic-only breaker that features adjustable instantaneous magnetic trip. Trip settings can be modified by sliding the control on the front of the breaker. Use of the device is especially pertinent for applications in which a regenerative drive is handling high inertia loads. A high inertia load is one in which the reflected load to the motor is equal to or greater than the motor’s load. Alternatively, high inertia loads occur when the drive is repeatedly regenerating power to the AC line, such as in pay-off or unwind applications.
When mounting the Inverting Fault Circuit Breaker Kit, users should first disconnect, tag, and lock out power to the FlexPak 3000 Digital DC Drive. They should then choose an ideal location for mounting the unit; wire length should be taken into account, as those shipped with the kit are sixty inches in length. Users should then drill the appropriate holes for screws, mount the bracket by employing the screws, and then mount the circuit breaker assembly and insulating barrier onto the mounting kit.
The DC drives associated with this kit are either 25-30 HP at 230 VAC or 50-60 HP at 460 VAC. The dimensions of the circuit breaker are 6 in x 4.25 in x 4.16 in. The circuit breaker weighs 4.23 lbs.
