908FK0031 is a Dynamic Braking Kit that is manufactured by Reliance Electric for their FlexPak 3000 drive series. This specific kit is for 230 VAC drives with a rated horsepower between 1.5 HP and 30 HP. The dynamic braking kit slows down the DC motor in an “uncontrolled” process. To allow for dynamic braking, the DC contactor on the drive must be open, which can happen with a dynamic braking command or after a coast-to-stop command. If there happens to be drive fault, the contactor may also open, which will automatically implement dynamic braking on the FlexPak 3000 motor.
