908FK0051 is FlexPak 3000 Dynamic Braking Kit that is manufactured by Reliance Electric. 230 VAC drives between 1.5 HP and 30 HP can support this dynamic braking kit; the set horsepower available for this model is 5 HP. The dynamic braking kit slows down the DC motor in an “uncontrolled” process. The load on the motor is also slowed during the dynamic braking process. This kit includes a DB assembly, a conduit plate, a control power wire, and four cable ties. The user must drill holes in a NEMA 1 cover if the desired mounting location is on a NEMA 1 enclosed drive. The 908FK0051 dynamic braking kit is used in the FlexPak 3000 series to provide hardware, such as braking grids, which are vital when the associated drive needs a dynamic braking stop.
When the 908FK0051 module is being installed alongside the FlexPak 3000 drives, it will be installed on top of the chosen electrical cabinet in a solid plate or expanded sheet-metal enclosure without any impact on the required compliance. A DC motor armature is available alongside this module which will lead to the resistor enclosure and is required to be dressed as close to the mounting panel as possible.

There is the D2-3403-2 FlexPak 3000 Digital DC Drive Hardware Reference, Installation, and Troubleshooting Manual, which provides information on how the braking kit will be mounted with the associated drive. The D2-3313 and D2-3374 manuals are both used to give specifics on the 908FK0051 braking kit.
