909FK0071 is a Dynamic Braking Kit that is made by Reliance Electric as a part of their FlexPak 3000 series. This 460 VAC kit has a rated horsepower of 7. The DC contactor must be open on the drive in order for dynamic braking to work. Dynamic braking slows down the motor and is an “uncontrolled” process. The user must conform with all local, national, and international codes when installing this kit on the FlexPak 3000 drive. If the drive has failed, the motor will still decelerate with the use of this kit. Under fault conditions on the drive, dynamic braking is applied across the motor after the DC contactor is opened.
