About the 913FK0400

913FK0400 is a Dynamic Braking Kit that is manufactured by Reliance Electric for their FlexPak 3000 series. This kit is associated with 40 HP drives in this series. Only use this kit with drives that have an input VAC of 460. The dynamic braking contactor on the drive is normally closed. When the motor is running, however, this contactor is open and the dynamic braking resistor is disconnected. The DC motor is slowed by the dynamic braking function. Dynamic braking closes the contactor and transforms the motor’s rotating armature into a generator. The current that results from this generator creates braking torque that slows the motor.
