About the 0-57170
The 0-57170 is a Regulator Module manufactured by Reliance Electric which belongs to the FlexPak Plus Series. One 0-57170 Regulator Module is supported per controller in a system. The 0-57170 has the model number 14C650.
The Digital Driver Module works as a device driver in the larger drive controller. This piece runs the software that operates the drive controller and acts as a translator between the hardware device and the operating systems that use it.
When installed correctly, the Digital Driver Module should have firing pulses and should be outputting to the power cubes of the drive controller. The Regulator Module should be outputting to the Digital Driver Module. There are resistors on the primary side of the pulse transformers, and the pulse waveform should be +11.2v. The reading across power cubes 47 and 45 should be 0-240 for 230 VAC controllers and 0-500 for 460 VAC controllers.
If troubleshooting is needed, first test the regulator module for output to the digital driver module. If all is working there, test the digital driver for firing pulses. Be sure to turn the power off for safety, then open the main disconnect and loosen the Regulator/Digital Driver Module assembly (four screws in each corner). Next, connect the scope common to Pin 57 on the Regulator Module. Connect the scope probe to the resistor on the primary side of the pulse transformer located at 7A or the Digital Driver Board. Turn the power back on and switch into the START position. Turn SPEED POT to the full on position. If firing pulses do not occur and readings cannot be obtained at 14A, 10A, 11A, 13A, and 8A, replace the Digital Driver Module.
Always heed the danger warnings in the device manual in order to avoid personal injury and/or equipment damage.
