About the 14C109A
The FlexPak Plus series of regenerative controllers with auxiliary panels includes 14C109A, which is manufactured by Reliance Electric.
The rated armature current of 14C109A is 25.0 amperes. The horse power is 5 and the D-C armature is 180 volts. The available field voltage is 200, the AC input drive rating is 230, and the input KVA is 11.04 The available current is 3.0. Regenerative controllers don’t have a rated A-C line.
This controller only operates up to 3300 feet elevation and at ambient temperatures between 32° F and 131° F. The controller has to operate in conditions of 5% to 95% relative humidity. Above 95% relative humidity, or at any humidity with condensation, 14C109A does not operate. When planning controller operation conditions, remember to consult the manual. Technical issues may result if specified conditions are not met.
The drive does not restart automatically after a power outage, because this controller has relay in the control circuit. Isolated voltage and current feedbacks make the regenerative controller more reliable.
Regenerative controllers come standard with the Remote Operator Adapter kit, which buffers and filters external signals when the drive is operated remotely. A built-in surge suppressor protects the semiconductors from line transients, and an armature loop D-C circuit breaker protects all regenerative controllers from inverting faults. The motor shunt field includes a 2-3 Horse Power field supply. This controller is extremely easy to install and service due because it is designed with an open chassis and a lot of space around ports.
