About the 14C300-1U

Reliance Electric manufactures the FlexPak Plus series of D-C controllers that includes 14C300-1U.

Only 14C300 level controllers, such as 14C300-1U, have a regulator board that is set up for use with 24 VDC main contactors having a coil resistance greater than or equal to 100 ohms. The rated Horse Power for 14C300-1U is 10 and the A-C Amps (RMS) maximum rating is 38. The VAC at 60Hz is 230 and the D-C field rating is 150 volts. The minimum required kVA size for proper operation of the controller is 15 kVA, and the transformer of this controller has a rated kVA of 6-16. The transformer also has a maximum kVA of 30-80.

Never mount the chassis on a horizontal surface during installation. Always leave 4 inches of clearance between the top, bottom, and sides of the controller. Proper air circulation through the heat sink requires an unobstructed area around each controller. Never place a controller in a corner. Ambient temperatures must remain between 32°F and 131°F for proper operation of the drive. Keep relative humidity (without condensation) between 5% and 95%.

Before starting up the drive, first inspect the controller with the power off. Then check the drive motor to assure that no damaging grounds - other than earth ground - exist within the motor. Connect external overload devices between terminals 32, 33, 34, and 132. If these are not connected, the drive will not start. Closely follow the directions in the manual for wiring the drive, and, if necessary, for troubleshooting incorrect wiring within the system.
