Reliance Electric produces the FlexPak Plus series, which includes Standard D-C Controllers such as 14C58U.
The horsepower of this Standard Controller is 5 and the VAC is 230. The A-C (RMS) is 35.0 amperes, the D-C armature is 180 volts and averages 25.0 amperes, and the D-C Field is 200 volts. The fields supply max of 14C58U is 3.0 amperes, and the power supply capacity is 5000, which is the maximum permissible available symmetrical RMS fault current with NEC or CEC external approved disconnect. For this controller, the transformer’s maximum kVA per phase is 40, and the transformer full load kVA is 10.0.
Warning: The user is responsible for conforming with the National Electric Code with respect to the motor, the controller, and the operator device installation, wiring and startup. The National Electrical code requires that a two-pole, fused disconnect switch be installed on the incoming A-C line ahead of the controller to provide branch circuit protection. Do not allow conductors to ground on the chassis. Check the integrity of all wire insulation. Refer to manual D3935-3 for all electrical warnings concerning potential personal and/or equipment damage.
Do not place the chassis on a horizontal surface. Controllers must be mounted vertically to allow for proper cooling. Keep the relative humidity between 5-95% without condensation, and keep the ambient temperatures between 32°F-131°F. This controller is not designed to operate at maximum horsepower above 3300 ft elevation. Derate the horsepower 3% for each 1000 ft above this altitude.
