About the 125R4160
The 125R4160 is a 100-150 HP 380-460 VAC 3-Phase GV3000/SE AC Drive Controller that was originally designed by Reliance Electric. This unit is considered a legacy series, and, depending on when its production dates were, it could have been also manufactured by ABB, Rockwell Automation, or Baldor Reliance. This drive, although somewhat market-limited in its current availability, is available for either repair or replacement here at AX Control, with a standard lead time for repairs of one to two weeks.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
The 125R4160 typically uses a standard V/Hz regulation but it has the ability to change it to a vector regulation. Under the standard regulation it is rated 125-150 HP 170KVA with an output amperage of 210, 168, or 126 A (depending on what kHz it’s using). It has an input amperage of 213 and a full load power loss wattage of 3200. When the controller is using vector regulation it is 100-125HP and 127KVA. It has an input amperage of 159A and depending on the kHz rating an output amperage of 152, 122, or 91 amps. A 250A rated fuse is recommended for this controller.
The 125R4160 uses a NEMA 1 type enclosure. It weighs 96 kg and is 465 mm wide, 1457 mm tall, and 355 mm thick. This enclosure is very tall and has air vents on all sides. On its bottom, the enclosure has two large fans to help keep the air flowing to all of the controller’s internal components. On the bottom and top of the enclosure, there are brackets to panel mount the controller.

Software Tips and Specifications
Unfortunately, when dealing in refurbished and vintage industrial automation products, even the conscious drive user may encounter a number of relevant function faults. One fault that may impact the performance of this 125R4160 drive is the drive power electronic overload fault, commonly signified on the GV3000 drive interface display as the code PUo. The drive power overload fault is oftentimes caused by an overloaded power module encouraged by an excessive DC braking current or torque boost. Corrective action when faced with this PUo fault includes checking the power module's load, DC braking current, and torque boost. If none of these checks yield results, ensure the power module is correctly sized relative to the application.
