Hardware Tips and Specifications
Before installing the 150ER4060 Bookshelf Drive it is vital to properly plan the installation to ensure that the environment that the drive is going to be mounted and installed in. Please make sure that no other devices are to be mounted behind the drive as doing so can cause issues. The area behind the drive needs to be kept clear of any extra power wiring and controls. Some of the conditions that must be taken into consideration when installing the drive are that the drive remains distant from any coolants, oil, or additional airborne pollutants, the drive will be installed in an area that is typically cool, dry, and clean; and that there is enough space for airflow.
There is a chapter in the D2-347-3 Manual in regards to installing the output power wirings. Output contactors are one of the power wirings that can be installed on the 150ER4060 drive; these contactors will provide an effective means of disconnecting the motor from the drive. Please note that the output contactors are completely optional output power wirings to the GV3000 drives.
Software Tips and Specifications
One important feature regarding the 150ER4060 drive is that the model can be programmed to provide two different types of operational stops, one of which is the coast-to-rest stop. The coast-to-rest operational stop can turn off the transistor power device drivers when needed. The other operational stop is ramp-to-rest which will fire the transistor power device drives until the attached motor comes to a stop and will proceed to turn off the associated power devices.
It is possible, as with any vintage or refurbished legacy series drive, that the 150ER4060 drive can encounter a basic fault in its functioning. These faults are standard to a number of GV3000 series Reliance Electric drives, so much so that they are thoroughly described in Reliance Electrics' own instructional manuals D2-3426 & D2-3427. One such fault that may disproportionately impact owners of this specific drive is the missing power module ID connector fault, which is always signified on the drive's built-in keypad display as PUc. This PUc fault, as described in Reliance Electrics' software manuals, is caused by a poorly-connected or defective cable extending from the drive's regulator and power module. This fault can be corrected by checking these aforementioned connection cables for any defects or installation mistakes.
