About the 20H4160
This device is one of the several GV3000 units that we have in stock here at AX Control Inc. The GV3000 series overall is a product line that was developed, produced, and originally distributed by the electromechanical industrial manufacturer, Reliance Electric LTD. These Reliance products are one of the many that we have in our inventory of both used and brand new surplus units. While originally developed by Reliance Electric, this drive has been manufactured by a number of trusted retailers following Reliance's broad discontinuation of the line in 2009. Since that year, the 20H460 drive has been mass-produced by other companies including Baldor Electric, ABB, and Rockwell Automation. This specific GV3000 legacy series drive, while somewhat sought-after, is proudly offered here at AXcontrol, with both repair and replacement options available. The standard repair lead time for this particular VTAC7 model of refurbished drive is typically one to two weeks.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
The 20H4160 model of the GV3000 line is a 20 horsepower control drive and is powered with nominal intake of 460 volts of alternating current, equipped with a standard regulator board, internal cooling fan, power PCB, as well as other component parts. While this is true, it is important to note that this drive does not make use of several other components crucial to higher-horsepower models. Components such as the power supply and gate driver printed circuit boards that may be extremely relevant to the functioning of models such as the 50V4260, also available for purchase here at AXcontrol.
One other important hardware specification to highlight for the 20H4160 model of GV3000 drive is this drive's enclosure. Rated at NEMA 1, the chassis associated with this drive is classified as an indoor-style chassis allowing only for sufficient protection against basic contact with the drive's inner mechanisms, and against a low level of falling dust, dirt, or lint. It is very important to remember that with its attached NEMA 1 chassis, this drive is NOT considered waterproof or outdoor-proof.
Software Tips and Specifications
The GV3000 series is a lineup of motor controller drives that operate with a pulse-width modulated system and manage the motor by adjusting and controlling the various parameters needed for its operation. The GV3000 line is able to adjust the speed, torque, and direction of the motor with its peak accuracy and precision capabilities. While this drive offers a clear parameter table, it remains true that a number of faults can impact the automation efforts and performance of the 20H4160-model drive. One fault that is particularly relevant to this specific drive is the drive overtemperature fault, which is signified on this GV3000 series drive's built-in keypad display by the simple code OH. The OH fault usually happens due to a failure of the drive's cooling fan, and can be fixed after a series of checks on 20H4160's ambient temperature, cooling fan, and minimum drive clearances. For a more detailed walkthrough on corrective action for the OH fault, as well as a litany of information on general GV3000 drive maintenance, please make use of Reliance Electric's exhaustive Software Start-Up and Reference Manual D2-3359-6.
The series is installed with a set of regulation specifications: the general-purpose regulation, and the pair of vector-based regulation settings, flux vector control and sensorless vector control. The general purpose setting is a scalar volt/frequency setting, and while the FVC is able to accept the feedback from an encoder attachment, the SVC is unable to do so.
We are able to protect the 20H4160 with our warranty coverage, which ranges dependent on the type and condition of product purchased. This particular AC drive is protected with our two-year AXcontrol warranty.
Compatibilities
Like many updated GV3000 series models, this 20H4160 model has a 6.0 regulator version, allowing for the attachment and installation of many beneficial regulator boards available through us at AXcontrol, including:
