About the 300V4160
The 300V4160 is a GV3000/SE 300HP 460V Drive. It was initially created by Reliance Electric and eventually possibly sold by ABB or Baldor Reliance. None of these companies provide any type of support for this drive anymore, but AX Control still tries to keep it in stock.
The 300V4160 is a drive that has the ability to use either V/Hz or vector regulation. This drive has an input of 310 KVA and 389A. It has an output amperage of 361A and a power loss wattage of 5100W full load.
The 300V4160 is very large and protected by a NEMA 1 type enclosure. This enclosure has air vents on its sides and faceplate. It is not meant for outside environments and should not be exposed to liquids, combustible or corrosive materials. There is a small panel on the front faceplate that can be opened to gain access to an RS-232 communications port that is located on the regulator board.
The 300V4160 has several main components. These include but are not limited to a terminal block assembly, blower fuses, power module interface PCB, SCR-precharge assembly, regulator PCB, keypad with a mounting bracket for the regulator board, option board, phase module assembly, blower assembly, blower transformer assembly, AC input fuse, ground-fault current transformer, DC bus discharge resistor, current feedback assembly, and capacitor bank. A 300HP regulator board is used with this system. The regulator board has a 60-pin ribbon cable that attaches to the power module and a 34-pin ribbon cable that attaches to the option board. There is also a J9 connector for the keypad/display. The user display on the regulator should be positioned behind the keypad so that it can be seen on the keypad display.
