About the 30V4250
This unit is one of the several GV3000 series AC Motor Control Drives. These drives, as well as the many add-ons and internal hardware components, are all the products from Reliance Electric Ltd.
The 30V4250 model is able to control the motors within a range of systems, from simple units such as a pump system, or a fan module, and then to more complex and advanced motor units, like those in a web processing system.
The 30V4250 AC Drive is outfitted with a set of three different motor control methods. There are two vector-based methods, which are flux vector control, and then sensorless vector control. The two are able to utilize control over the vector with a PWM waveform, but the FVC method is able to receive the encoder signals, while the SVC is unable to process them.
The 30V4250 is outfitted with an integrated, external keypad for operators to be able to adjust and alter the parameters of the motor is operating under, such as the speed, torque, and direction. The LED display provides easily accessible information on the motor and the drive’s status itself. The 30V4250 is outfitted with an IP0 Power Module enclosure frame, with a NEMA 1 protective rating.
This particular GV3000 series drive from Reliance Electric is not immune to a series of common faults known to plague owners of refurbished or vintage GV3000 series drives. One of these faults that may be especially relevant to owners of a 30HP GV3000 series drive such as this one exists in the high DC bus voltage fault, which is represented on the GV3000 30V4250 drive's built-in keypad by the fault code HIdc. The HIdc fault is caused by the drive's DC bus being charged beyond the trip threshold. Corrective action when faced with this common fault involves increasing the deceleration time in parameters .002 and .018, installing a snubber resistor braking kit, and ensuring that the AC input is within specification; installing isolation transformers as required. If the problem persists after this series of checks, additional checks may need to be administered comparing the actual line voltage against U.018.
