About the 38ER4060
Designed with an IP20 enclosure rating the 38ER4060 bookshelf drive is protected against solid objects larger than just under half an inch or twelve millimeters, indicated by the first number, which is two, in the enclosure rating. The zero in the enclosure rating denotes that the enclosure will not be watertight. It is vital to the operation of the 38ER4060 bookshelf drive that the user notes that the drive is rated for being used in larger, user-supplied enclosures, such as a cabinet.
The amperage for this drive is 3.8 which can help the user understand what the primary components of this drive are. The main components of the 38ER4060 drive are a fan, a keypad/display, a power and regulator PCB, and an output relay terminal strip. The fan is located towards the bottom of the drive, with the keypad/display on the front panel so as to help users operate and configure the drive. There are twenty-two terminals on the terminal strip which use several different connection types. The connections associated with this model are digital input connections for the 24 VDC in terminals 16-25, encoder connections in terminals 4-9, analog speed/torque reference connections in terminals 12-15, and finally analog output connections in terminals 10-11. For the full comprehensive list of each connection type for each terminal refer to Figure 2.9 in the D2-347-3 Instruction Manual.
During the operation of the 38ER4060 drive are motor lead lengths that can help limit the noises and line disturbances, to help eliminate the disturbances it is highly recommended that the lead length be no greater than two hundred and fifty feet, anything greater than two hundred and fifty feet will cause more nuisance trips to occur due to the capacitive current flow to ground.
