About the 50V4251
The 50V4251 is covered by AX Control Inc.’s protective warranty, which ranges from one to three years. Our inventory of AC, DC and servo drives are all covered buy our guaranteed warranty for a maximum of two years. You can reach a representative by phone or email during business hours to ask about our warranty, price quotes, delivery, more information on this product, or any other inquiry. This product is a member of Reliance Electrics' discontinued legacy series of GV3000 drives, and has an extremely volatile market availability in general. That being said, at AXcontrol we make every effort to stock this drive for your convenience. We additionally offer repairs for this specific model of drive, with a standard lead time of one to two weeks.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
This unit is a model available within the GV3000 series of motor controller devices. These units are built as controller units with a set of three different control methods of motors. The units it is able to control range from simple motor systems, like pump units and fan modules, to advanced, complicated web process systems. The 50v4251 is outfitted with an externally integrated keypad, which is constructed with a 7-light segmented LED display. This intuitive built-in keypad provides information on the controlled motors, such as the output frequency, as well as the motor’s speed, torque, and direction. The 50V4251 is also outfitted with a set of LED lights to easily indicate the status of the drive.
Physically, the 50V4251 is protected by a NEMA 1 graded, IP0 Power Module designed frame. This keeps the drive user safe from coming in contact with hazardous internal drive components. The NEMA 1 chassis is not, however, waterproof in any form, with its water ingress protection rating of zero. A vented chassis, the 50V4251's enclosure isn't rated as dust or dirt-proof either, making it solely a viable option for indoor factory automation needs.
Software Tips and Specifications
While the exterior of this GV3000 series drive is protected by the custom frame, it remains possible to encounter a series of functional faults in usage and maintenance of the 50V4251 drive. One such fault is called the high line voltage fault, is is designated on the 50V4251 drive's display keypad as the code HIL. The HIL fault occurs when the drive's input voltage level reaches 15% above the nominal charge. Corrective action when faced with the HIL fault is to check the 50V4251 drive's actual line voltage against U.018 or H.021. For more information on fault codes and parameter programming, please reference Reliance Electric manual D2-3359-6.
The motors are able to be controlled by a standard general purpose setting, which utilizes control over the voltage and frequency, and then the two sets of vector-based control. There is the FVC and SVC modes, Flux Vector Control, and Sensorless Vector Control. The FVC is able to render and receive the encoder module feedback, and the SVC is not. All of these motor control methods are accessible through the 50V4251 drive's second menu of drive parameters, which requires a factory-issued password to access in conjunction with an understanding of this drive's intuitive built-in keypad display.
Compatibilities
The 50V4251 drive differs from many GV3000 series models of automated drive in terms of its regulator version. As a GV3000 series legacy drive, the 50V4151 drive features some outdated specifications in terms of today's industry standards. The 50V4251's regulator version is rated at 5.1, allowing for the installation of several regulatory option boards available here at AX Control, including:
It is extremely important to compare the voltage and horsepower ratings of both the 50V4251 drive and any regulator board you wish to install for functional concurrent use prior to purchase.
