About the 60G4151
The 60G4151 is a part of the GV3000 line of devices. This line of units was built, developed, and produced by Reliance Electric. Reliance Electric Ltd. is responsible for the creation of several motor control devices; the Liqui-Flo drive series, the FlexPak 3000 drive series, also available from AX Control Inc., and then the GV3000 drive series. While assumed to be manufactured by Reliance Electric, this drive, as with many in the Reliance Electric GV3000 series, is considered a legacy series drive, as it may have been manufactured past Reliance Electrics' own discontinuation of the product. Depending on this 60G4151 drive's date of creation, this drive could have been manufactured by a number of other reputable companies, including Baldor Electric, Rockwell Automation, or ABB. The 60G4151 GV3000 series drive is available for both repair and replacement here at AXcontrol, with a standard lead repair time of one to two weeks.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
The 60G4151 drive is suited for a broader series of general purpose applications, utilizing regulation for the voltage/frequency of the motor. It requires the speed control of the motors being adjusted. The 60G4151 is outfitted to operate at 30 horsepower, 460 volts of alternating current, and has a protective NEMA frame that encloses the module. This NEMA frame is rated at NEMA 12, rated for operation within indoor environments. AX Control Inc. is able to provide a comprehensive warranty for the 60G4151, as well as all of our other products. Our warranty ranges from one to three years, depending on the class of product. This product is additionally equipped with a 5.1 regulator version, necessitating the insertion of a 0-56921-511 regulator board; also available for purchase right here at AXcontrol.
This particular model, while outfitted with a slightly outdated regulator version at 5.1, also may feature an IP20 enclosure. The IP20 enclosure, as defined in official retailer NEMA's blog post IP Ratings Explained; is protective against solid objects greater than 12.5 mm in total area. The IP20 enclosure is not rated to protect against ingress of common hazards such as dust, dirt, or silt, and considering the drive''s waterproofing rating of zero, is not meant for use in outdoor applications. The IP20 enclosure reccomended for use with this GV3000 series drive is considered interchangable with NEMA's very own NEMA 12-rated chassis.
Software Tips and Specifications
The 60G4151 unit is an alternating current drive, outfitted to provide a dynamic, high performance response utilizing vector regulation. It maintains the rated motor torque and speed, and is able to do it both with and without utilizing the encoder feedback signals, based on the type of vector control used by the operator’s configuration. The flux vector control (FVC) is programmed to use the encoder feedback, while the sensorless vector control (SVC) does not use this feedback.
A number of specific faults in drive function depend on this drive's status as a vector-controlled drive. For example, the overfrequency fault, represented by the fault code OF on the drive's built-in keypad display, has different corrective actions for different types of controlled GV3000 series drive. Caused by the drive's exceed maxmimum required output frequency and too high of a concurrent regenerative energy, this common GV3000 series fault has a specific corrective action for both vector and volts/hertz controlled drives. For our purposes, as with any vector-regulated drive, the corrective action to return the 60G4151 to normal function would be to check the drive's encoder PPR, Motor Poles, and Base Frequency parameters.
