About the 7V2160
The 7V2160 drive is part of the GV3000 series manufactured by Reliance Electric. This drive operates on 7.5 HP with a voltage of 200 to 230 volts. Within the order code, there is a V, this V following the first character in the code designates the regulator version which in this case is both vector and volts/hertz regulation. The regulators on the 7V2160 drive are used with version 6.0 firmware. The rated enclosure associated with this drive is noted by the 1 following the 2 in the 7V2160 model number and is a NEMA 1 enclosure. Enclosures that are rated as NEMA 1 come with a communication access door which helps the user easily access the communication port inside the enclosure without having to completely remove the cover.
There are six main components that are used with drives rated 1-20 HP. The components are an internal fan assembly, regulator board, membrane switch/bracket, a base board which is PISC-10, and a fan assembly.
The regulator board on this drive is vital to the operation; the regulation is performed by the regulator board through a microprocessor. The regulator board helps the user adjust the parameters through the keypad and will accept several different feedback signals such as internal heat sensor feedback, power circuit feedback signals, data from a pulse tachometer that is attached to the motor when the drive is used with vector regulator, and an external speed reference signal. All of the processes that can be provided by the regulator board on the 7V2160 drive can be found in chapter two section four of the D2-3362-1 GV3000 AC Drive, 1-20 HP, 230 VAC, Hardware Reference, Installation, and Troubleshooting Manual.
