The 896.08.80, which can also be found under the alternate part number 15V4160, is a GV3000/SE series drive that is manufactured by Reliance Electric. It may have also been sold by Baldor Reliance or ABB at some point based on its production years.
The 896.08.80 is protected by a NEMA-1 type enclosure. This means that the drive should always be kept dry and cool in an inside location. It is not drip/dust-tight and has air vents along the sides and bottom. It also has a small port opening that can allow access to the RS-232 communication serial port on the regulator board. The dimensions of the 896.08.80 are 11.34” wide x 18.23” tall x 9.37” thick. It weighs 35 lbs.
Components of the 896.08.80 are the external fan assembly, the membrane switch, the regulator printed circuit board, the PISC board, the GVPB base board, and the internal fan assembly. The regulator card is actually attached to the built-in keypad using a mounting bracket on the keypad. There is an RS-232 connection on the regulator board and a terminal strip. On the terminal strip, terminals 1-3 are used for the RS-232 connections. Terminals 4-9 are used to connect the encoder and terminals 10-11 are for the analog output. Terminals 12-15 are the connections for the analog torque/speed reference while terminals 16-25 are the 24 VDC digital input connectors. Terminals 26-27 are the connections made for the older snubber resistor braking kit’s snubber resistor braking controls and terminals 28-31 are the status relay connections.
