To insure free rotation of the motor, turn the shaft by hand (while motor leads are not touching). To prevent vibration, ensure that the motor’s foundation is sufficiently rigid. When mounting the motor to the driven machine, ensure that they are properly aligned in order to minimize unnecessary motor loading from shaft misalignment. The user must install a protective guard around all exposed rotating parts.
When providing appropriate grounding, connect suitable equipment grounding conductor or bonding jumper to the motor frame, the remote operator’s control station (if used), the input power transformer (if used), and the controller enclosure. Next, connect the motor leads. Connect the normally closed motor thermostat to pins 40 and 41 of connector 2CN as shown in the user manual. CAUTION: The controller will not stop when the contact is open in the motor thermostat is not properly wired.
