About the B18H1086
The B18H1086 is a HR2000 High Performance 4 HP Brakemotor. It was originally created by Reliance Electric although ABB or Baldor Reliance possibly massed-produced it at some point during its production years.
The B18H1086 has brakes that are integrally mounted. There are springs that are set within the motor that become released electronically to stop the motor. The brake on this motor is specifically designed to be a holding brake, meaning that its purpose is to stop and hold the motor in the stopped position even when there isn’t any power going to the motor. It will hold the motor in the stopped position until it receives the signal to release it. This brake motor provides 180 lbs. of static torque and has a standard coil voltage of 208/230 V. It is a single-phase motor. The base speed of the 4 HP motor is 2000 RPM.
The B18H1086 is a NEMA motor option. As a NEMA motor, this brakemotor comes with a few standard features. It has a TENV construction and has a NEMA 180 C-face enclosure with a foot mounting. It has winding thermostats and an optical encoder that is thermally isolated 2500 PPR. The connection to the encoder has a mating MS plug. It also features a buffered encoder output, a motor shaft lock, a position error warning, a ready mode, a position move complete mode, and a serial pulse conditional command.
