About the BLA-16
The BLA-16 AC Brushless Servo Controller was made by Reliance Electric to be used in conjunction with the HR2000 series of High-Performance Drives. If you need to buy a BLA-16 servo controller, then you can typically find it within AX Control’s stock. This is despite Reliance Electric no longer offering it new or supporting it through any sort of service. The BLA-16 servo controller is used with the motor models B18H1080 and B90H1045. These motor models are completely identical except for the flange mounting. These motors have a horsepower of 4, a continuous torque rating of 126 lbs., a base speed rating of 2000, and an inertia rating of 0.041 lb. in s^2. Lastly, the BLA-16 servo controller uses a TENV type enclosure.
The BLA-16 servo controller utilizes a chassis enclosure and a short circuit SYM RMS that is rated at 5 kiloAmps. The AC input is rated as being 50/60 Hz at 200/220 VAC. Adding on to that, the AC output is set at 0~100 Hz at 0~180/207 VAC. The BLA-16 servo controller is a three phase system.
On the BLA-16 servo controller’s faceplate, there are fourteen LED status indicator lights in the top right corner. These lights illuminate whenever the labeled status is activated, such as whenever the BLA-16 servo controller is running or is ready to run. There are also numerous I/O ports where the user can control the controller’s functions. There are also two ports toward the bottom of the BLA-16 servo controller. The top of these ports is a large 2CN port and the one below it is a smaller 3CN port.
For proper safety uses, the BLA-16 servo controller must be used with a copper 60/75 degrees Celsius wire only. Be sure to mount it with either the BLA-16 servo controller using a UL or NEMA type mount.
