The CBRU-1-16 is a Circuit Breaker created by Reliance Electric. This product may have also been mass-produced and sold under the additional manufacturing names ASEA BROWN BOVERI or Baldor Reliance depending on the year it was produced.
The CBRU-1-16 is technically part of the Input Disconnect Kit, 3CB2030. It mounts directly to the controller and is able to kill power to it when it is needed. It is enclosed in a white chassis and has a lock-off. There is a thru-the-door-handle option, but it is not available for this particular kit. This specific kit has a 4HP Drive Rating and an amp rating of 30.
The CBRU-1-16 protects the motor against an electrical excess of current, fluctuations in that current, or unscheduled interruptions of the current. If it detects these things, then the circuit breaker will automatically trip to prevent the controller from receiving the irregular current. The circuit breaker has a black lever that can be manually reset if it is tripped.
