The 5RD0401 convertor is an HR500 Reliance Electric chassis model with a snubber resistor. At 230 VAC 1-phase power, this chassis produces 200 watts. At 230 VAC 2-phase power, this chassis produces 400 watts.
There are eight diagnostic LED indicator lights which indicate the following: Power On, Overtemperature, Overload, DC bus over/under voltage, Encoder miswired of failure, Run, Overcurrent, and Overspeed. There is an automatic electronic shaft clamp that is activated whenever the input reference is set at zero volts. Additionally, the 5RD0401 has a selectable encoder power supply which supplies voltage and can allow operation with a cable at lengths up to 500 feet. Line transient of the 5RD0401 is protected, which helps to prevent the control from being harmed in any way by the power line transients.
There are many optional features which are compatible with the 5RD0401 convertor. There is a Multi Function Kit, which provides adjustable acceleration and deceleration ramps, forward and reverse reference inhibits, speed following error output, and remotely settable current limits. There is also a Position Mode Kit, which can provide the ability to follow a single dual channel frequency reference. The frequency output is used as a reference to another HR500 or to close a position loop. Additionally, there are prewired encoder cables in lengths of up to 100 feet and an exercise module that can help with starting up and troubleshooting the devices.
