The 5RE6 model was produced by Reliance Electric as part of the HR500 series of servos and motors. The 5RE6 model is classified as an Exercise Module, an optional accessory that can be installed in an HR500 controller module.
According to the HR500 series manual, the 5RE6 Exercise Module assists the user during the setup and troubleshooting processes of the controller. The 5RE6 model is an optional accessory, and it plugs into the controller’s faceplate. Additionally, the 5RE6 model is compatible with all ratings.
There are other optional accessories that can be installed onto the HR500 series controllers, due to the series having a conveniently flexible design. The HR500 motors were designed with an industrial setting in mind. Because of this, there are numerous features included that are needed to maximize the motor’s performance. By using rare earth magnets, the HR500 motors are used to help maintain a high torque to inertia ratio. Also included in this series of motors is an optical encoder which can grant the motor accurate speed and position regulation throughout the whole operating range.
Every HR500 controller comes with eight diagnostic LED indicator lights, which are used to indicate the following states: Power On, Run, Overspeed, Overcurrent, Overload, Encoder miswired/failure, and DC bus over/under voltage.
