About the 5RK1
The 5RK1 is manufactured by Reliance Electric and is part of their HR500 series. It is a Multifunction Kit that connects with the HR500 series regulator. The main uses for this kit include providing the amplifier with adjustable acceleration and deceleration ramps, forwarding/reversing reference inhibits, remotely settable current limits, and also providing a speed following error indicator.
One of the most important things to note is that the 5RK1 Multifunction Kit is not compatible with the Pulse Position Kit (M/N 5RK2) and hence, it cannot be used when the pulse position kit is already installed. The Pulse Position Kit also connects to the HR500 series regulator, however, it is used to enable the amplifier to follow a single or a dual channel frequency output. 5RK2 is used by a motion controller in order to close the position loop or sometimes, it is also used as a reference to a different HR500. The great thing about the HR500 high performance drives is that it allows for a wide range of kits to be added to it due to its flexible design. Choose the kit based on your specific needs.
