About the 8C80
The 8C80 part number represents a DC Motor field supply from Reliance Electric. Reliance parts are sometimes sold under company names like Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance. The 8C80 is typically used for ImPak Plus DC drives with wound field dc motors. The part is small. It is designed as two wires ending in two female connectors that mate with stab-on connecters on a mounting block, along with two additional wires with female connectors connected to another stab-on connector. These wires connect to a second mounting block. The first two wires end in bare wires. The wires are bundled together using zip ties.
The ImPak Plus is similar to Reliance’s MinPak Plus drive. These drives were designed as smaller DC controllers for adjustable speed dc motors or other applications.
