About the 14C12
The Reliance Electric Part Number 14C12 is a D-C Controller that offers full-wave power transfer. The controller comes complete with a tachometer feedback feature that provides information when altering armature voltage or speed regulation.
This D-C Controller uses chassis part number 14C21, which is a NEMA Type 4/12 casing. The casing’s function is to enable the Controller to be mounted on a wall or panel, and it comes with a hinged cover to make it easier. The casing can also be discarded if the Controller is to be mounted on a panel mount on a large electrical casing. On the large electrical enclosure surface, an optical remote control station can be installed. The optical remote control station can also be placed at a distance from the Controller. The 14C21 chassis has a POWER ON/OFF circuit breaker that comes separately from the cover and nameplate.
An Operator’s Station will enable smooth operation of the Controller and allow for further adjustments to the control functions for the application. Further Controller information can be found on the nameplate, including the D-C output power, the maximum amp limits, the model number, and the A-C input power. The Reliance Electric 14C12 Controller comes with the 14C22 chassis. Specifications for the Single-Phase Controller are: 230 volts of AC input at 21 amps, 180 volts of DC output at 15 amps, 200 volts of DC field at 3 amps, and a maximum power supply rating of 5000 amps.
