14C223 by Reliance Electric is a voltage/tachometer follower kit in the FlexPak plus and MinPak plus series.

14C223 allows parts in the FlexPak plus and MinPak plus series to be controlled in an automatic fashion, and also to respond to speed and references that come from the tachometer which is adjoined to a different unit. A standard application for 14C223 is connection to automatic control systems.  In these instances, a second slave drive will be following the speed of the master drive.  This modification kit was meant to be used with theFlexPak in MinPak DC drives, however, has also been suited to mount to the HR 2000 interface kit.

On this unit, you will find a remote operator adapter module and switch receiver module area, as well as a reference area, and test area.  This kit can be used for automatic speed control, however, if you need Manual override control than an Auto/ Manual selector switch will need to be in place at the operator control station.  In auto mode, 14C223 will only follow external signals.

When installing this modification kit make sure the power is off to the controller unit and that the cabinet is disconnected and in lockdown from incoming power.  When installing place the voltage/tachometer follower module on top of the reference area.  You’ll find this area over the regulator module and just above the five pins.  At this point, you will lower it and the pins will pass through a guide within the module.
