11C81K 2-3HP Dynamic Brake Kit
The 11C81K is a Dynamic Brake Kit with Contactor that was sold by Reliance Electric as a replacement part/kit part for their drive systems. It is rated 2-3 HP. Reliance parts were sometimes sold under the alternate company names of Baldor-Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri. Dynamic braking kits allow the motor to come to a rapid and smooth stop rather than coasting to a rest.
The 11C81K is a long, narrow circuit board populated with only a few board components. One of these is a ten-position terminal strip. Each of the screw connections on the terminal strip has a numerical label. It can accept a cover. The board has a transistor, a polyester vinyl capacitor, wire wound and carbon composite resistors, and diodes. The board has a contactor with multiple screw mounts and several surface wires. These wires use several different types of ends, including female stab-on connector covers and terminal loops.
