About the 45C8
The 45C8 unit is a local head interconnect cable that was designed and manufactured by the company Reliance Electric. The 45C8 cable has been discontinued by Reliance Electric and is therefore deemed an obsolete product; however, we here at AX Control typically have this product in our stock. The 45C8 cable is a ten foot long cable that was designed to be used within AutoMax control systems. It is compatible with many of the modules within the AutoMax family of control systems, such as the rail digital output modules, rail analog modules, and specialty I/O modules. Primarily, the 45C8 cable is used in conjunction with these modules to connect the remote head with the local head.
In rail analog modules, the 45C8 cable may be used if you are intending to provide an external source of 5 VDC to the module you are using.
When you are ready to connect the 45C8 cable to your intended devices, be sure to follow a few specific steps to ensure that the environment is safe for its operation. The 45C8 cable must be wired in an environment that is clean, meaning that it is cleared of any dust, debris, or corrosive chemicals. Failure to clear the area of these dangers can result in a disruption of the 45C8 cable’s processes and possibly seriously damage it and the device it is plugged into. Also, be sure to keep the cable in an area that is cleared from anywhere that people walk, since stepping on the 45C8 cable can severely damage it.
