About the 608831-5R
The 608831-5R is a Coil Control that was initially produced by Reliance Electric. Baldor Reliance and Asea Brown Boveri may have also mass-produced this component as a part of their product lines at one point, but all of these companies have discontinued the 608831-5R. AX Control does still attempt to keep the 608831-5R in stock as a new surplus stock/refurbished part.
The 608831-5R is a 120 V 60 Hz, 110 V 50 Hz rated coil control. It is a small black rectangular box that has two rectangular holes on its top and bottom side. On the small sides of the component, there are two factory drilled holes that allow it to be screw-mounted into place. On the bottom of the 608831-5R, there are two metal pins. One pin is located on the top right side just able a factory drilled hole and the other pin is located on the left side just below the factory drilled hole on that side. There is one long side on this part that has a built-up lip that slightly elevates it. To compensate, one of the pins is a little longer than the other. There is a small label on the part that lists the current and frequency ratings and the product serial number. It weighs roughly 3 lbs.
