A 616300-117R is a Ballast Resistor created by Reliance Electric. This resistor was sometimes sold under the company names Baldor Reliance, Allen Bradley, and ASEA BROWN BOVERI. The 616300-117R has been retired by the manufacturer and is no longer available for direct purchase. AX Control, however, does offer this product as a new surplus stock or refurbished part.

The 616300-117R is also known as a DC Bus Discharge Resistor. It was made to be a part of the GV3000/SE AC Drive system as a 200-400 HP Drive replacement part. This type of resistor is used to limit the amount of current within an electrical circuit. The 616300-117R is a metal rectangular box that has three wires with terminal loops attached to it.

The GV3000/SE AC Drive system is a pulse-width-modulated drive that provides optimal regulation for a variety of applications. It does this using vector regulation. This gives the drive an ability to control the motor speed in all directions and maintain a full rated torque to zero speed. Each drive has a specific NEMA rated enclosure.
