The 63481-40AX resistor module is a replacement part. It is compatible with many of Reliance Electric’s drive systems. Because of this, it is recommended that a few of these be in store as a failsafe in case the drive system’s internal resistor module becomes defective.
The 63481-40AX resistor module is a cylindrical device with two pointed poles. On one of these poles, you will attach a wire that has a stab-on female connector. On the other pole, you will attach a wire that has a terminal loop on the end. Printed onto the 63481-40AX resistor module’s surface, you will find its specifications, which is 50 Watts of power and 30 Ohms of electrical resistance.
There are many performance tests that can be done using the 63481-40AX resistor module. For example, there is the Thermal Shock performance test, which applies rated power until the system is thermally stable, and sets it at -55 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 15 minutes. In addition to that, there is a Load Life performance test, which applies 1000 H at rated power, with +25 degrees Celsius and 1.5 H when “ON” and 0.5 H when “OFF.”
