This particular model is a replacement part and was previously sold under the Asea Brown Boveri and Baldor-Reliance names. Reliance Electric circuit breakers, including the 65241-100DCA circuit breaker, provide thyristor protection to the drive. More protection can be granted by taking all incoming power and routing it through the circuit board. In addition to thyristor protection, the Reliance Electric circuit breakers also provide phase sequence circuitry. In order to provide adequate protection to the breaker itself, a line shield is provided that either already comes installed onto the breaker or can be easily installed.
The circuit breaker that acts as the incoming circuit breaker is used to interrupt all power that the drive uses. In addition to that, the transformer secondary wiring X1, X2, and X3 are all terminated using this same circuit breaker.
When operating with the 65241-100DCA circuit breaker, take the necessary precautions to ensure that the trip setting, which is indicated on a label that is on the circuit breaker’s case, is not exceeded at any time. Failure to do this can result in serious injury and/or damage to the circuit breaker and the drive itself.
