The 705393-R is a Motor starter component used in several of Reliance’s drive systems. This component was distributed under the company names of Baldor-Reliance, Asea Brown Boveri/ABB, and Reliance Electric. It is no longer actively manufactured but can be purchased as a reconditioned module from AX Control. We may also have it available as liquidated never-used surplus.
The 705393-R is a 460 VAC 5 HP 15 Amp motor starter. It is composed of an electrical contactor (electrical contacts to connect incoming line power contact to the load contact, or coil, that is used to provide the force to close contacts and create current flow,) and an overload section that is used for protection if there is a sudden loss of power. The motor assembly is built upon a metal carrier with factory-made drill holes in each corner to allow for mounting. The side metal panel is also drill mounted in four locations. This gives end users multiple options for installation. The front panel of the motor starter has three rotary dials mounted on its surface. The top plane of the assembly has a double terminal strip that accepts multiple wired connections that then connect to other components within the module.
