About the 78091-50R
The 78091-50R module is a contactor that was made and manufactured by Reliance Electric. The 78091-50R contactor became obsolete as a result of Rockwell International purchasing Reliance Electric in 1994, but AX Control may still have it in stock. We tend to have our products in a used but refurbished condition, but we may have this product new from our access to some surplus stock. The 78091-50R module is a 3 pole AC contactor that is rated as having 75 Amps at 120 VAC and 50/60 Hz. The Reliance Electric AC contactors are mechanically interlocked so that they can be used for reversing and/or reducing auto voltage. In addition to that, they are capable of fulfilling industrial motor, heating, and other power circuit switching functions. The AC contactors are all designed to be compatible with Reliance Electric or other control component modules. The AC contactors also have pressure type terminals that are centrally located, which makes them perfect for wire channel layouts as well as for straight through wiring practices.
In addition to all of those features, one of the most critical inclusions of the AC contactors is the hot molded, high arc resistant housing units, which can come in two or three pieces. They are designed to have totally enclosed contacts and operating coils for protection from the elements and to keep them separated as additional protection from internally produced phase-to-phase short circuits.
