About the 78091-51R
The 78091-51R model is one of the many different types of DC contactors that Reliance Electric designed and produced during their run as a company. However, the 78091-51R contactor is no longer available from the original manufacturer. Despite this, we here at AX Control may have acquired the 78091-51R contactor in brand new condition from our access to some surplus stock or as a refurbished product by a member of our professional staff.
As indicated by the labels that are situated on the back side of the device, the 78091-51R contactor has a definite purpose rating of 75 Amps at 600 VDC. In addition to the definite purpose rating, the 78091-51R contactor is also rated as having 120 Volts and 50/60 Hz.
These DC contactors can be outfitted with four auxiliary contact blocks, two N.C. contacts and two N.O contacts. There are, however, other additional kits that can be used with the Reliance Electric DC contactors that can provide extra places for auxiliary contact blocks to be installed using certain field installation techniques. One of these optional kits is the side mounting kit, also produced by Reliance Electric, which can add four more spots for auxiliary contact blocks to be installed.
The 78091-51R contactor can be used for many different functions, including battery load and resistive heating functions. In addition to those functions, the 78091-51R contactor are flexible machines and may be used as one of three types of contactors: reversing, accelerating, and main line.
