About the 78093-3R
The 78093-3R module was one of Reliance Electric’s creations. It is a DC contactor that was made to be compatible with many of the devices that Reliance Electric also manufactured.
All of Reliance Electric’s DC contactors, which includes the 78093-3R DC contactor, has many features that make it perfect for a user of any experience level. They have terminals that are pressure-type, and they are located on the front side of the contactor. This frontal location makes it ideal for certain processes, such as both straight-through wiring and wire channel layouts. To add on to that, the Reliance Electric DC contactors are capable of switching resistive heating and battery load applications. They are operated by a solenoid, which makes it have a consistently fast, long life.
The contacts on the 78093-3R DC contactor have a long and productive life, and that is caused by their large size and the fact that they are made out of a silver cadmium oxide material. This size and material also means that there is positive circuit interruption. The auxiliary contact blocks have the ability to be furnished onto the 78093-3R DC contactor can be either N.O., N.C., or both of them combined. The 78093-3R DC contactor can be supplied with up to four total auxiliary contact blocks, but there are kits that can allow for the installation of additional auxiliary contact blocks using field installation techniques that are unique to that particular kit. This includes the Reliance Electric side mounting kit, which can allow up to four more auxiliary contact blocks to the 78093-3R DC contactor without having to purchase another DC contactor.
