The 78098-50D module is a device that has the ability to be attached to a motor starter. Due to its small size, the 78098-50D module is very easy to install into the motor starter, requiring no tools to install. The 78098-50D module has a clear side cover. The main contacts of the motor starter are positive driven. For each side of the starter, it is possible to attach one single auxiliary contact, with a total of up to four contacts for every motor starter. Should a side mounting kit be installed to the motor starter, a maximum of eight auxiliary contacts may be added to it.
The side of the 78098-50D module has white text which reads, “Heavy duty, 600 V max. AC, Wiring must be same polarity.”
Any auxiliary contact that is installed into a motor starter can be furnished with N.O., N.C., or N.O and N.C. auxiliary contact blocks. Every contactor has the ability to be given a maximum of four auxiliary contact blocks. In addition, there are kits that are available for field installation.
