About the 803430-8S
803430-8S IGBT Module Assembly
The 803430-8S is a component used within Reliance DPS (distributed power systems) High power SB3000 AC power modules. These are variable-voltage, high-performance, limited-frequency PWM power converters designed for use with distributed power system inverter drives like the SA3000 and SA3100. The 803430-8S has been discontinued by the manufacturer. It was sometimes sold under alternate manufacturing names Baldor-Reliance and ABB.
The 803430-8S is an IGBT module assembly. Typically, three of these module assemblies are used per drive. The module’s circuit board component is mounted on top of a large heat sink assembly. There are four Mitsubishi high power switching IGBT modules (CM600HA-24H) mounted to the top of the heat sink below the circuit board using screw mounts. Fuses are also mounted to the surface of the heat sink. Two vertical handles extend from the top of the heat sink above the surface of the circuit board. A metal arm extends to the side from the middle of one of these vertical arms.
The circuit board component (0-55350-15) of the 803430-8S is a snubber/gate driver board. This board has two lines of high voltage metalized polypropylene film capacitors (MKP1841 9730) rated 22 µFK1600V, twenty-four in all, surrounding three lines, twenty-four total, of a different type of metalized polypropylene capacitor. Other board components include two transformers, transistors, LED indicators, diodes, resistors, and electrolytic capacitors. The board also has several connectors, including vertical pin connectors and fiber-optic connectors.
