About the 803456-21T
803456-21T DCS Field Supply Module
The 803456-21T is a DCS (distributed control system) field supply module manufactured by Reliance Electric. It is typically used within Reliance drives and their auxiliaries like the Automax/Automate system. Components like the 803456-21T were sometimes sold under manufacturing names of Baldor-Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri.
The 803456-21T is a three-phase system. It is rated 460 VAC. The module is designed with a three-sided metal carrier with a removable cover attached via four screws. The metal carrier carries several warning stickers pertaining to the hazards of improper handling of internal components. An extending metal carrier with a terminal strip, several connectors, and other components connects to the outside of one short edge of the primary carrier.
The internal components of the 803456-21T include a 0-57300 circuit board. This board is populated by eight transformers, stab-on connectors, terminal pin connectors, and two right-angled cable connectors. The board also has integrated circuits, metal film resistors, wire wound resistors, transistors, diodes, and various capacitors, including ceramic disk capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, and polyester vinyl capacitors. Some of the larger components are secondarily supported by zip ties to protect their axial connections. The board uses multiple surface wires. Many wires connect to components located below the board or to components located on the sides of the metal carrier, like Dale power resistors. Below the board, the module has several fuses, resistors, terminal strips, and a transformer (TR-12731.)
