The 803623-R is a Battery Backup Unit for a Reliance Electric AutoMax Rack Assembly.
The 803623-R is used when a Common Memory Module (57C413 or 57C413A) or Processor Module (57C407 or 57C430) is installed onto an AutoMax rack. This module can only be used with the Power Supply module 57C493. A separate cable is needed for the battery backup unit (57C384). This unit can save the contents of these modules in the case of a catastrophic power failure.
The 803623-R is a small box that is 6.27 lbs. On its faceplate, there are two female connections that lead to the power supply and to the expansion unit. There is a green LED indicator that is labeled OK. There is a test switch and a key switch reset. There is also a red positive connection and a negative black connection. There are two screws in the top left and top right corners of the faceplate. There is a warning label on the faceplate that reads “Loss of memory may result if battery is tested when AC input to the power supply is off." There are two metal brackets with factory drilled holes on the back of the module that allow it to be mounted into the rack. It does not take up a slot on the rack.
