85014-35RA Reliance Rectifier Stack
The 85014-35RA is Reliance Rectifier Stack component. This can be purchased from AX Control as a rebuilt part or as never-used liquidated surplus. Reliance sold the 85014-35RA under several manufacturing names, including Asea Brown Boveri, Baldor-Reliance, and Reliance Electric.
The 85014-35RA is composed of a base made from a larger circuit board carrying two heat sink assemblies on each side, two of which has a second circuit board attached across their top surface. Each heat sink assembly has SCR diodes and MOVs mounted to its surface. This top circuit board (0-51486-25a) is populated by polyester vinyl capacitors, diodes, and resistors (including carbon composite resistors.) The board also has five brass quick disconnect tabs lined up on one edge.
The lower (base) circuit board component used in the 85014-35RA is populated by twenty brass quick-connect tabs lined up on two edges. The unit has several transformers, along with transistors, capacitors of various materials, resistors, and diodes. The board also has a single 600686-17RR Reliance Voltrap. This is a bi-directional Selenium Diode used to prevent transient voltage spikes. A significant number of surface wires are used to connect the different components to each other.
