About the 86466-69R
86466-69R Rectifier Stack Thyristor Assembly
The 86466-69R is a Reliance Electric component used in the company drive systems. This component is no longer actively manufactured. However, during the years it was produced it was sold under the Reliance name, as well as under the manufacturing name of ABB/Asea Brown Boveri and Baldor-Reliance.
The 86466-69R is built on a flat base that connects to several standoffs as well as T’ing into the central metal carrier that bisects the thyristor assembly. On either side of this carrier, the unit has two heat sinks that are also separated by a vertical metal carrier. Everything is bolted together, allowing for air gaps between the units. Two small circuit boards are mounted to the bottom of either side of the central carrier. There is also a single small circuit board mounted at the top of the outermost heat sink on either side of the unit. SCR diodes are mounted on the inside of each of the shorter vertical metal carriers. Red and white braided wired connect components located on the bottom boards and the top boards to components located elsewhere in the unit.
The very top of the 86466-69R is populated by two large fuse components and two large capacitors. The unit also has metal oxide varistors mounted. The fuses and varistors give the thyristor assembly protection against spikes in voltage.
