About the 86466-74RD
86466-74RD Reliance Electric Rectifier Stack
The 86466-74RD is a Reliance Electric board component most often used in MaxPak Plus direct current Variable Speed drive systems. Baldor-Reliance and Asea Brown Boveri were also sometimes used as the manufacturing sales name for these components. They are no longer actively manufactured, but the 86466-74RD can be purchased from AX Control as a rebuilt surplus component or as new-used liquidated surplus. We are also happy to give you a quote on the cost to repair your current unit.
The 86466-74RD functions as a Thyristor Rectifier stack. This is most often used in drives rated at 230VAC or 430VAC. In most applications, three 86466-74RD are used side-by-side. The unit is designed as a hollow metal base with several internally mounted components. Two heat sinks sit on top of this, connected to a central metal carrier. An SCR diode is mounted on each side of this metal carrier between it and the external heat sink. Each heat sink is topped with a flat vertical metal plate that has a small circuit board attached to it. This circuit board (0-51378-19) is populated by several resistors and diodes, terminal pins, and one transformer. At the very top of the component, two large fuse components are mounted to horizontal braces.
User guides, product manuals, and data sheets originally provided by Reliance with your OEM purchase will provide detailed information regarding proper installation and handling of the 86466-74RD. Our team is happy to help with the sourcing of replacements of these documents if they have been lost or misplaced.
